Signups for Doodle 4 Doodle 2025 are now closed! I am excited for everyone who's going to doodle with us this round!

Matching Update

There are no outstanding signup related questions or issues! Everyone made themselves matchable before the deadline, and therefore no one will be getting a random Creator's Choice of Doodle assignment.

This makes assignments rather easy! AO3 and airtable willing, assignments should be sent out within the next day or so--and definitely no later than October 30th. Initial pinch hits will be posted shortly afterwards.

If there are any questions or concerns about signups please give me a shout in the next 24 hours! If you forgot a letter link, or you forgot to add your DNWs, you can email me at outstandingfroggie2 at proton dot me or contact me on the screened mod post and I can get them added for you before assignments go out.

We've passed 50 people signed up, and I'm so excited to be doodling with everyone! I can't wait to see who signs up over the weekend! <3

Small update / Ongoing tag situation

Some fandoms seem to be extremely cursed, and cause me to get a 500 time out whenever I try to approve them.

If your fandom appears to be rejected, or it doesn't appear to be in the place it should be, I may have had to reject the fandom you nominated and slap a DFE or "Disambiguated For Exchanges" on it to make the tag nominations go through.

So far, the only affected fandom has been Buffy The Vampire Slayer. If this happens to your nominations, you can find the fandom under the Uncategorized Fandoms tab of the tagset. I apologize for the inconvenience!

Please read the rules before you sign up. To quickly sum up:

Requests

• You can request a minimum of 1 fandom, and a maximum of 10.
• You can request 1-20 tags per fandom.
• You can repeat fandom requests.
• You can sign up with one fandom, but you must request 3+ different fandoms to be guaranteed a gift.



Offers

• You can offer to create for 1-10 fandoms, with 1-20 characters/ships per fandom.
• Doodle 4 Doodle uses OR matching. This means you will match to ONE tag.
• If you are unmatchable when signups close (e.g. you are offering tags that no one else is requesting), you will be matched at random to someone requesting a Creator's Choice of Doodle tag.



Nominations Are Still Open!

• If you're signing up and realize you forgot to nominate any fandoms, or characters/ships/objects/places (etc), you can mosey on over to the tagset!
• I will be approving nominations several times per day until nominations close.
• Nominations close ~48 hours before signups close (countdown to nominations close).
• If you've nominated anything in the past day or two that is not visible in the tagset, check to see if it's been queried in a recent nomination clarification post. If it hasn't, please post here and let me know.

Since nominations and signups will are open concurrently, if you see any duplicate or migrating tags in your fandoms, comment here ASAP if you notice any issues. Once a tag has been requested by someone, it can't be corrected in the tagset.

Please read the nomination rules below before you nominate!

Eligible Fandoms

• All fictional work fandoms, characters, and ships are eligible for this exchange.
• Settings and objects from your fandoms are eligible.
• Recursive nominations are eligible. See the FAQ for more information!
• Specific or Pre-existing OCs can be nominated under the fandom "Recipient's OCs for Doodles". See more here.
• Original Work and Creator's Choice of Doodle are eligible for the exchange.
• RPF of famous people over the age of 18 are eligible for this exchange. There are some restrictions on RPF nominations. See Other Considerations in the rules for these restrictions.

Nominations Rundown

• Each participant can nominate up to 10 fandoms, with up to 20 characters/ships in each fandom.
• Nominations will be done in the character field.
• You will be required to use a Group: prefix for any / or & relationships that involve more than one character
• Settings or objects should use the Setting: or Object: prefix. If there is a canonical character tag for a setting or object, you may use that instead.
• You may nominate Creator's Choice tags using the fandom Creator's Choice of Doodle, or under a specific fandom.
• All nominations should be disambiguated.
• See the nominations section of the rules for specific guidance on how to format nominations for Original Work, Crossovers, Recipient's OCs for Doodles, and more.
• If you think there may be confusion about a tag you're planning to nominate, feel free to ask or give a heads up about it first. This lessens the chance of your nomination getting held up for a clarification post, or potentially rejected.

Hello, and welcome to Doodle 4 Doodle! You may already be familiar with Multifandom Doodle; and you may have already noticed that many of this event's rules are similar to MFD. Here are some key differences:

• More compressed schedule. D4D runs on a slightly compressed schedule, with overlapping nominations & signups.
• Smaller minimum size for artwork. D4D's art minimum is 400x400 pixels. Mods are experimenting with this smaller minimum size that may be more friendly to pixel artists and people drawing emoji.
• Different rules about 3D art eligibility. 3D artwork includes voxel art, art drawn with Blender's grease pencil, and CGI renders.
  • Art drawn with the Blender grease pencil is eligible to fulfill assignments.
  • Voxel art and CGI renders are welcome to fulfill assignments as long as they have some additional element of drawing or painting.
  • Voxel art and CGI renders with no element of drawing or painting is eligible to be given as treats.
• Creator's Choice of Doodle is the name for the creator chooses fandom. You can request or offer a wide variety of things that you want to leave up to your creator.
• Different rules about requesting already-exisiting OCs. We are experimenting with organizing these requests under a fandom heading of "Recipient's OCs" (if a recipient is requesting their own OCs) or under "Creator's Choice of Doodle" (if a recipient is requesting their creator to showcase the creator's own OCs). • One fandom minimum for requests/offers. Gifts are guaranteed for everyone who requests 3+ different fandoms!
• Defaulting using the default button has no penalty in this exchange. If you get an assignment that doesn't suit you, please feel free to default and pick up an assignment you like better from the pinch hit list!
• Defaulters still get gifts. All participants will be guaranteed a gift so long as they have 3+ different fandoms in their requests. This includes participants who have defaulted.
• If you no-show default, you will not be able to sign up to the next round. Please use the default button or contact us through the screened mod post to default!
